Komopa is made by one person. Email and you'll get a reply from a human, usually within a few days.

If something is wrong, it helps enormously to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.

Steps and food

My steps aren't turning into food

Walk through these in order:

Steps are never lost. Whatever Health has recorded is counted the next time Komopa gets a chance to look.

Can I buy steps or food?

No — and that's deliberate, not an oversight. Steps are the only way to earn anything in Komopa, and letting anyone buy their way past that would make the whole thing pointless. Optional purchases exist, but they only ever buy decoration.

Feeding, mood and growing up

I fed my Komo and it's still sad

This is the most common surprise, and it's working as intended. Food fixes hunger. Play fixes mood. They're two separate things, so a Komo that's been alone for a while may be full and still be sad. Give it a bit of attention — a petting session — and it will come round quickly.

The feed button won't do anything

Your Komo is already full. Komopa refuses the tap rather than quietly spending a food unit for nothing. Come back when it's hungry.

I didn't walk for a week. Did I hurt my Komo?

Your Komo will look hungry and sad, and that's the whole of it. A Komo never dies, and Komopa never punishes you. Recovery is fast and deliberately so — one meal and a bit of fuss and you're back where you were. Days you missed simply don't count toward growing up; they are never held against you.

When does my Komo evolve?

When it's ready, it starts to sparkle — and then it's your call. Komopa never evolves a Komo behind your back. If you'd rather wait, say "not yet"; the sparkle stops pestering you and the Evolve option stays in your Komo's info panel for whenever you're ready.

When does the day roll over?

At midnight, your phone's local time.

Purchases and backups

Restoring purchases

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Anything you've bought is tied to your Apple Account, so it comes back on any device you sign in to. Every purchase in Komopa is one-time — there is no subscription.

I got a new iPhone

Install Komopa, sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, and open the app. If a backup is found, Komopa offers to restore it before you start — so take the offer before hatching a new Komo. The backup covers your whole save: every Komo, your step wallet and everything you've bought or decorated.

Nothing was offered on my new phone

The restore offer only appears on a fresh install, before you've started playing. It also needs the same Apple Account as the old phone, with iCloud enabled. If you've already started, email us before you do anything else and we'll talk it through.

Saying goodbye

If you want to part with a Komo, it's in Settings inside the app. It's permanent, so Komopa asks you to hold the button rather than tap it. Your steps, your purchases and your other Komos are unaffected.
